Do sting operations, gang control and drug enforcement functions server their functions or do they alienate a segment of the community the police serve?Do sting operations, gang control and drug enforcement functions serve their purpose or alienate a seg. of the
I believe the so called War on Drugs is really causing more harm than good. We have all these victimless criminals in prison over it. Don't get me wrong I'm not an advocate for drug dealers but the prohibition of anything that is in demand leads to black market and violence. It's my personal opinion that government needs to do a lot less to protect me from me. If we legalized and controlled the sale of drugs like with alcohol it would be harder for teens to get it. My kid can get a variety of drugs now but she can't buy booze they have to steal it to get it. Not that my child does drugs but if she wanted to it would be much easier for her to get crack than a bottle of wine and how can that make sense. Of coarse with this meth problem they should definitely raid those places that make it as they are so unstable and dangerous to the community at large. But the drugs themselves all these raids are just making more criminals who can't get hired and have to commit crimes to live. the quote is ';Give me liberty or give me death'; not give me safety or give me death.Do sting operations, gang control and drug enforcement functions serve their purpose or alienate a seg. of the
most sting operations, gang control, and drug enforcement what they do what they can. if there is a gang starting a riot then the police go the that spot and to gang control. they don't alienate the segment of the community that the police serve
drug prophabition causes crime not drugs .police only say that so they can keep the free ride goin they are just a bunch of losers.they should quit and go on welfare
Drugs are the root of 90% of the crime. Most burglaries, robberies ect all stem from a drug addiction. Better inforcement of our drug laws would save tax money in the long run. Less people would be on welfare and disability and less people would be in prison.
They serve their purpose. If we did not have them, our neighborhoods would be run by the drug dealers. Our children would ultimately be the ones to suffer the most, because drug houses inevitably attract more crime.
Sting operations, gang control and drug enforcement functions serve there purpose when done aggressively and when the courts are not filled with Libs
They are pointless. They probably make more crime. If they went out and did their jobs there would be no more crime and no use for them.
I think they serve their purpose. If not for gang activity, drugs, and crime, such sting operations would not have to exist.

I think it is the communities surrounding such illegal activity that allow themselves to be alienated. People in the communities know what is going on, and by being silent they allow it to happen. Perhaps if people spoke up more (and stop being chickenshit) huge sting operations wouldn't have to happen, as the problem wouldn't have gotten so big in the first place.
