The function of proteins in a cell is to (A) control chemical reaction (B) store genetic information?

Holt Science 6th gradeThe function of proteins in a cell is to (A) control chemical reaction (B) store genetic information?
(B) store genetic informationThe function of proteins in a cell is to (A) control chemical reaction (B) store genetic information?
ok, so firstly...the first two answers are wrong!

DNA (genetic info) is NOT a protein! it is a series of nucleic acids with sugar-phosphate backbones.

although it contains nitrogen, it does not have the functional 'amino group' and 'carboxyl group'...therefore, it is NOT a protein.

it only CODES FOR the protein.

so it is definitely not both, nor B!

the answer is A, control chemical reactions =]

proteins catalyse reactions to make then go faster, control which reactions happen when, and are a HUGE contributing factor to maintain homeostasis in the body
In a nutshell, the answer is both.
