The vertebrae kidney helps to keep the acidity of the body fluids constant by varying the amount of hydrogen ions. it secrets in the urine. you can confidently predict that these aspects of kidney function will be controlled by:

The body monitors the pH of the blood. It controls it by means of respiration and the kidneys. When the pH of the blood is low (acidic pH's - high levels of H+), more H+ is secreted, whereas if the blood is too basic (high pH means low levels of H+), the secretion of pH is reduced.
